Memorial of Maharaja Sir Madho Rao Scindia and his loyal dog Husu in Gwalior. These stones were erected by his wife Maharani Chinku Bai Raje Scindia at Sharda Vihar. Today this historical place need a major renovation.
Husu was the beloved dog of Maharaja Madho Rao Scindia, when Scindia left for Europe on April 10, 1925, he gave Husu to Maharani Chinkoo Raje saying “Take care of my Husu” since then he was faithful and ever constant companion of Chinkoo Raje. But Husu never forgot his dear Master and every day used to go to his bedroom to see if he had returned. Alas his master never returned so Chinkoo Raje carried out his wish and took care of Husu for 5 years, 7 months and 18 days. On Friday the same day that his master died, Husu also followed his master. He died at 6:30 am on the 28th November 1930 aged about 10 years. On the affectionate remembrance this stone was erected by Maharani Chinkooraja Scindia of Gwalior.
Next stone are the ashes of Maharaja Madho Rao Scindia rested on the fourth of July 1925, on the way from Paris to Shivpuri.
