Photographer Adrian Fisk shares his picture from Gwalior, he quoted “Every time someone says we don’t need feminism anymore, things like this come to mind. Due to insufficient dowry this young girl’s #husband lacerated her face with a #razor blade in Gwalior.”

The close-up shot that Fisk has captured really forces the viewer to look and take in the #horrors this girl has experienced. The scars on her face act as a reminder of her struggles. Fisk doesn’t allow the viewer to forget that. He makes her pain the main theme or even the only theme in the photograph. In my opinion that is what makes it #successful; the way Fisk has captured reality in its truth.
