– Rs. 1830 crore given for development of villages and prevention of Corona
– CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan interacts with Sarpanchs of Gwalior and Zila Panchayat CEO Shivam Verma through video conferencing
The Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan addressed around 6 thousand Sarpanchs/Former Sarpanchs of the state through video conferencing from Mantralaya. He also interacted with Sarpanchs/Former Sarpanchs, who were connected with VC. Chouhan held discussions with Sarpanchs on Panch Parmeshwar Yojana, MNREGA works, Shram Siddhi Abhiyan, Rozgar Setu Portal for registration, construction of Gou- shalas, Free #Ration Distribution and situation of Corona etc.
Chouhan said that #India dwells in villages. Development of country and state is possible only by the development of villages. An adequate fund is being given to Panchayats for rural development by the Madhya Government. The government has restarted the Panch Parmeshwar scheme and has released an amount of Rs. 1830.07 crore of 14th Finance Commission to Panchayats (Rs. 1555 crore for infrastructure development and potable water arrangement and Rs. 275 crore for prevention of Covid-19). Sarpanchs should use this amount judiciously. Get the works done for prevention of coronavirus besides good quality development works of permanent nature. Give priority to water and sanitation related works, he added.
The Chief Minister said that Corona has reached villages only from cities. Currently, 904 corona infected patients have been found in 440 villages of Madhya Pradesh. Fifteen percent sum of 14th Finance Commission amounting to Rs. 275 crore has been sent to Gram #Panchayats for prevention of Covid-19. This amount can be spent on masks, sanitation, soaps, sanitizers, PPE kit etc. Corona patients are recovering at faster pace in state but still full precautions are needed. In order to prevent corona infection, use face masks, maintain a distance of 2 yards and follow other necessary precautions.
The Chief Minister further said that a sum of Rs. 1256 crore under the #MNREGA has been deposited in labourers’ accounts. Employment is being provided to at an average 25 lakh 14 thousand labourers daily under the MNREGA in the state. Under the Shram Siddhi Abhiyan also, job cards have been given to over 7.5 lakh labourers. Registration of 7 lakh 30 thousand migrant labourers and 5 lakh 79 thousand family members of the same #labourers, thus registration of total 13 lakh 10 thousand has already been done on Rozgar Setu Portal. Chouhan asked Sarpanchs to ensure that no work should be undertaken by machines under any circumstances under the MNREGA.
