Teli Ka Mandir, Gwalior: Among the earliest constructed temple of #India dated from early 8th century to late 9th century by the majority of the historian’s view, but there are some other views that suggest its construction much later.

It is very unusual temple because it integrates the temple elements of Nagara (north Indian) as well as #Dravidian style (south Indian) because it has wagon vault topped gopuram like superstructure. It is a masterpiece of late Gupta era art.

Temple was restored by #Hindu ‘Marathas’ after its desecration, severely damaged in plunder raid of ‘aibak’ and ‘Iltutmish’ in 13th century. #Temple has inscription and icon devoted to Shaivism, Vaishnavism and Shaktism.
Origin of the word ‘teli ka’ is still dubious and implicit.
