Urban Development and Housing Minister Bhupendra Singh during a review of the works of AMRUT Yojana (Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation) in the urban bodies including Jabalpur, Gwalior, gave instructions to give detailed report within 7 days pertaining to the projects where there is less than 60 percent progress. The review will be conducted again next week, he added.

Singh said that information should be given in connection to the completion of projects with the deadline. He said that there should be continuous monitoring of every project at the directorate level. No proposals should remain pending at the directorate level. Singh separately reviewed various ongoing works in 34 cities under AMRUT Yojana. Water supply, sewage, rain water drainage, green area, park development and urban transport works are being carried out under AMRUT Yojana. As many as 199 projects have been approved under the scheme till June, out of which 99 have been completed.

1080 additional city buses to ply

Minister Singh said that pollution free transport should be given priority within the city. He said that now the number of inter-city buses should not be increased further, buses should be run within the city in a planned manner, so that citizens can avail convenient transportation facilities.

It was informed in the meeting that a total of 1080 more buses including 400 buses in Bhopal, 400 in Indore, 200 in Jabalpur and 80 buses in Gwalior, will be operated.

Strict action on negligence in PM Swanidhi Yojana

Urban Development and Housing Minister Singh directed the Principal Secretary Urban Administration to take strict action against officials who have been negligent in the Pradhan Mantri Street Vendors Atmanirbhar Nidhi (PM Swa-Nidhi) Yojana. He said that we are currently on number one position in the country in the scheme and have to maintain this position. He said that loans of Rs 10,000 should be provided to eligible street vendors soon.Principal Secretary Urban Development and Housing Nitesh Vyas, Commissioner Urban Administration and Development Nikunj Kumar Shrivastava and other officials were present at the meeting.
