Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that industry and minerals will be promoted in the state to make Atmanirbhar Bharat and Atmanirbhar Madhya Pradesh. Ease of doing business is very important to attract industries and investment, but often it is not real. We will ensure that there is “Real ease of doing business” in Madhya Pradesh, so that investors can set up their industries here without any problems, the government will lend full support to them.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that provision has been made for commercial mining under the Atmanirbhar Bharat package announced by the central government, which will prove to be very useful for industry and business. Apart from coal, bauxite is also available in abundance in Madhya Pradesh. Combined auction of bauxite with coal mines will be very helpful in promoting industries. We will leave no stone unturned in utilizing our mineral wealth. This work has been slow in the previous years, but will be paced up in future. This will not only generate revenue for the government, but will also create huge employment opportunities. The concerned departments should prepare a detailed action plan for this and work on it in a time bound manner.
Chief Minister Chouhan was holding a meeting related to the action plan of Industrial Policy and Investment Promotion Department and Mining Department in connection with Atmanirbhar Bharat Package 4 through video conferencing from Chirayu Hospital today. Among those present in the meeting were Minister for Industrial Policy and Investment Promotion, Rajyavardhan Singh, Minister for Mineral Resources and Labour, Brijendra Pratap Singh, Commerce Tax and Finance Minister Jagdish Dewda, Principal Secretary Finance Manoj Govil, Principal Secretary Sanjay Shukla and other officials concerned. At the beginning of the video conference, Industrial Policy and Investment Promotion Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Dattigaon apprised the Chief Minister with the work plan prepared for the coming years and the work being done by the department.
Notice of auction of 11 coal mines released
The provision of commercial mining has now been made by the Government of India under the policy of reforming the coal sector. With this, any party can now bid for the coal block and coal can be sold in the open market. With increased competition, closed mines will become operational, new mines will be started and the power, aluminum and steel sectors will benefit from low coal prices. Auction notice of coal mines recently released by the Government of India has included 41 coal mines in the country, out of which 11 coal mines of the state have also been included. Its due date is August 18. Chief Minister Chouhan directed that all the proceedings should be completed within the time period.
Two and a half times hike in mineral revenue
Due to Government of India’s new policy, the income from minerals of Madhya Pradesh will increase by almost two and half times. Right now it is about Rs 5000 crore which will increase to about Rs 12000 crore. Chief Minister Chouhan instructed that a work plan related to the excavation of not only coal but other minerals should be made, so that the state can get maximum revenue, more people can get employment.
Auction of 13 mineral blocks completed
Auction of 13 mineral blocks of the state has been completed. With this, the state will get revenue of Rs 600 crore. Auction of another 17 mineral blocks will be held after 3 months and pre-survey work is in progress in 66 mineral blocks.
Policy for extraction of coal-bed methane will be made
A policy will be made to extract cold-bed methane in coming times. Along with this, work will also be done in the field of setting up coal gasification and liquefaction industries. While this does not harm environment on the one hand, its transportation is also easy.
Accelerate infrastructure development
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that works of infrastructure development should be paced up in coordination with Industrial Policy and Investment Promotion Department, Public Works, Energy Department, Water Corporation and Urban Administration Department to promote industrial investment.
Work of upgrading industrial areas / parks
In the video conference, Principal Secretary Sanjay Kumar Shukla said that proposals for upgradation of industrial areas / parks are being prepared. A proposal to develop about 10 thousand hectares of land in the next 4-5 years has been made. These include proposals for development of two thousand hectares in the vicinity of Chambal Progress-Way and Indore-Bhopal Industrial Corridor as well as 1910 hectares in 19 newly-identified industrial areas. He informed that the process of development of 587 hectare area is going on in Sector 4 and 5 of Pithampur for upgradation of industrial infrastructure.
Investment in pharmaceutical sector
Government of India has issued a new guideline for investment in pharmaceutical sector for Atmanirbhar Bharat. The process of appointing a consultant for the establishment of a Pharma Park in Madhya Pradesh has been started on the basis of this guideline. Efforts are being made for investment by holding discussion with pharmaceutical, drug and equipment manufacturers. Action is also being taken to identify 1500 to 2000 hectares of land for setting up of Pharma Park. About 40 to 50 thousand people of the state will get employment through this industry. The Chief Minister said that a proposal for the establishment of a pharmaceutical park in the state should be prepared and sent to the Government of India within the stipulated time.
Establishment of Defence Park
The Chief Minister said that discussions are being held with investors for the establishment of defence parks in the state, so that investment can also be attracted in the defence sector. The work of GIS mapping of industrial areas / parks in Madhya Pradesh will also be completed by August 31.
