The Minister for Urban Development and Housing Bhupendra Singh has directed to constitute a committee in the chairmanship of Commissioner Urban Administration and Development to give suggestions as regard to increase income of the urban bodies. The Committee will comprise Municipal Commissioners of Bhopal and Indore besides other members. Singh instructed to submit a report pertaining to suggestions within 15 days. He also instructed to form a committee of the officers of the Town and Country Planning to review master plans of the urban bodies. Singh mentioned that this committee will give report about the agriculture land falling under the urban areas and other subjects after the contemplation.

Grading of urban bodies

Singh stated that grading of works being done by the urban bodies as regard to the loan to be provided to street vendors should be done weekly. Issue show cause notice to officers of the urban bodies legging behind in their works, he added.

Awareness campaign to be conducted for use of masks from August 01 to 15

The Minister for Urban Development and Housing Bhupendra Singh directed to launch an awareness campaign in all the urban bodies to motivate citizens to wear masks from August 01 to 15. Help of voluntary organizations should also be taken in the campaign. Singh further mentioned that stalls should be put up at main squares of cities and people without masks should be advised with the help of volunteers.

The Minister Singh further mentioned that development works should also be started in the newly formed 30 urban bodies. He instructed to complete the work of regularization of illegal colonies within stipulated time. Singh said that all works of sewerage system should be monitored and completed within time limit. He instructed that the pending works of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana should be started soon. Singh said there is a need for constant monitoring of works related to Smart cities.

The Principal Secretary Urban Development and Housing Nitesh Vyas and Commissioner Urban Administration and Development Nikunj Kumar Shrivastava were present at the meeting.
