Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the government alone cannot take the state to new heights of development, for this active cooperation of all is must. Madhya Pradesh has taken the lead in realizing the concept of Atmanirbhar Bharat of the visionary Prime Minister Narendra Modi, for which the roadmap of Atmanirbhar Madhya Pradesh is being prepared. Webinars are being organized to invite suggestions from subject experts to build the roadmap. An action plan of Atmanirbhar Madhya Pradesh will be prepared and promptly implemented based on these suggestions. We have set a target of three years for Atmanirbhar Madhya Pradesh, he added.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that important suggestions like the ‘National Logistics Hub in M.P’, ‘Buffer me Safar’, ‘Narmada Tourism’, ‘Air Cargo’, ‘Futuristic Industry’, ‘Tiger Reserve Adoptation’, ‘Round Table Conference’, etc. given for Atmanirbhar Madhya Pradesh at the webinar by Suresh Prabhu, Amitabh Kant of NITI Ayog and other experts will be implemented promptly. Chief Minister Chouhan was addressing the concluding session of the physical infrastructure of Atmanirbhar Madhya Pradesh through webinar today.

Former Union Minister and MP Suresh Prabhu said in the webinar that global economy has been badly affected due to Corona crisis. To overcome this, there is no other alternative but to be self-reliant. It is a matter of great pleasure that Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has taken the initiative to realize Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mantra of Atmanirbhar Bharat, for which the roadmap is being prepared on the basis of suggestions from the subject experts. He said that Madhya Pradesh is the heart of India. If it starts from here, it will be successful in the whole country.

Madhya Pradesh will have to be connected with Global Value Chain and Global Supply Chain

Suresh Prabhu said that the state has to be linked with the ‘Global Value Chain’ and ‘Global Supply Chain’ for Atmanirbhar Madhya Pradesh. ‘Air cargo’ services will have to be expanded in Madhya Pradesh. There is immense potential to make Madhya Pradesh a National Logistics Hub. Its internal trade will also get a boost. Agriculture industries of Madhya Pradesh will have to provide with market abroad. GI tagging will have to be done of Basmati rice along with district wise other special items of Madhya Pradesh.

Global futuristic industries should come to Madhya Pradesh

Prabhu said that Madhya Pradesh will have to make efforts to bring global ‘Futuristic Industries’. Tourism and tiger safari will have to be promoted in Madhya Pradesh. Adopting the state’s tiger reserve will help in promoting tourism here. A district-wise development model will have to be made in the state and the areas with special characteristics will have to be promoted. Every district will have to be made self-reliant by developing employment opportunities and resources.

Minister of Public Works, Cottage and Village Industries, Gopal Bhargava, Minister of Urban Development and Housing Bhupendra Singh, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Horticulture and Food Processing Bharat Singh Kushwaha, MD of C.M.R. Infrastructure Private Limited J. Satish Kumar Rao, Subject Expert Chaitanya Vaidya and Hitendra Mehta etc. took part in the concluding session of the webinar. Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains proposed the vote of thanks. Team Leader of Physical Infrastructure Group in the webinar, Additional Chief Secretary, I.C.P, Keshri made presentations on the suggestions and points of the sub-groups constituted on water, tourism, energy, roads, urban infrastructure as well as transport and logistics.

Important suggestions received in the webinar

  • Portal will be developed for the land acquisition process for early completion of ‘Chambal Progress-Way’ and ‘Narmada Express-Way’.

  • High Power Committee should be constituted for speedy disposal of matters related to industry and trade.

  • Madhya Pradesh should be made a multi-model logistics hub.

  • All urban by-passes and ring roads should be considered as self-funded projects.

  • Transport related tax system will be made simple, clear and convenient.

  • Special campaign should be launched to increase road connectivity of rural areas.

  • Rural, tribal area tourism and film tourism must be promoted.

  • e-Governance will be expanded for easy and timely delivery of civic amenities.

  • All citizen facilities should be made available online.

  • Practical logistic solutions should be provided for transportation of fruits and vegetables, so as to increase the income of farmers.

  • By 2024, every household should have tap water connections.

  • Arrangement for training of 50 thousand plumbers, electricians, masons etc. should be made for skill development.

  • Target set to complete 225 irrigation projects of the state by the year 2023. Plan to increase irrigation capacity to 75 lakh hectares by the year 2026.

  • The state should lead in power supply and solar power generation in the country.

  • Plan to construct three lakh EWS houses in urban areas.

  • Goal set for waste management and its recycling in all urban areas.

  • Plan to build infrastructure for e-vehicle charging in urban areas.

  • Clean and green energy to be promoted in the state.

  • Construction of ‘Priority Corridor’ in Indore and Bhopal.
