Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the vaccine acts as a Suraksha Chakra against Corona. Vaccination work should be undertaken as a campaign in the state. Cooperation of all sections of society including the Crisis Management Groups working in villages, cities and towns should be sought.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that the vaccine is very important, so efforts should be made to ensure that not a single dose of the vaccine is wasted.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that now prior registration will not be required to get vaccinated in rural areas. Villagers will be able to get vaccinated directly at vaccination centers. In urban areas, the remaining vaccines can be used without prior registration after 4 pm.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan reviewed the Corona vaccination work through video conferencing from his residence today.

More than one crore doses administered in the state

So far, more than one crore Corona vaccine doses have been administered to people above 45 and above 18 years of age. These include 7 lakh 70 thousand 613 doses to health workers, 7 lakh four thousand 818 doses to front line workers, 37 lakh three thousand 698 doses to persons above 60, 39 lakh 46 thousand 793 doses to people between 45 to 60 years of age and 9 lakh 56 thousand 663 doses to people in the 18 to 24 age group.

Driving license, voter ID etc. valid for off-line doses

Aadhaar card will not be mandatory to get vaccinated against Corona offline without prior registration. Voter ID and driving license etc. will also be valid.

Priority groups must also be created

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan directed that priority groups should also be formed in 18+ vaccinations. People who come more in contact with people should be vaccinated on priority. These may include hand cart owners, hawkers, etc. Parents of young children can also be kept in the priority group.

Awareness campaign should be launched, misconceptions should be cleared

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan directed that a public awareness campaign should be launched to create awareness about the vaccine as a Suraksha Chakra of Corona and myths related to vaccine should be cleared. Vaccine is very important to prevent Corona infection.

Status of different vaccines

The state is currently receiving Covaxin and Covishield vaccines. Apart from these, the state government is making efforts to get Sputnik (Dr. Reddy’s Lab) vaccine. Johnson & Johnson vaccine, which is a single dose, will be made in India. The Pfizer and Moderna Vaccine will be provided by the respective companies directly to the central government. The Zydus Cadila vaccine, which will be administered in three doses, has not yet been given emergency use authorization by the World Health Organization.
