The police arrested Gurjar with a rifle and three live cartridges from the jungles of Bamnor in Morena. Additional SP, Morena, Rai Singh Narwaria said the dacoit was arrested last night after a tip- off. He was carrying a .315 bore rifle and was wanted for cases of dacoity and attempt to murder among others . His elder brother Dashrat Gurjar is also a member of the gang.

Addl SP Narwaria said that the Gudda Gurjar gang has been active around Gwalior, Morena, Sheopur and Shivpuri districts.

There was a time when a large number of gangs were active in the ravines of Chambal region. But now small gangs like that of Gudda Gurjar are operating, Narwaria said. Police sources said that Gurjar was a cattle lifter but later expanded his operation.
