It is the right of every citizen to get basic facilities. With this thinking and without any discrimination, the state government is expanding the basic facilities in every habitation. This was stated by the Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Horticulture and Food Processing, Bharat Singh Kushwaha in the Bhoomi Pujan and Dedication program of development works in Salupura Colony and Sikrodi under Ward-66 of Gwalior city. The program was presided over by MP Vivek Narayan Shejwalkar.
Minister of State (Independent Charge) Kushwaha and MP Shejwalkar laid the foundation stone for the construction of a concrete road under Ward-66 from the landfill site to Salupura Colony, a Scheduled Caste dominated settlement, at a cost of about Rs.68 lakh 61 thousand. This road is going to be built under the Chief Minister’s infrastructure item. After this, he inaugurated the CC road built under Ward-66 at a cost of about 44 lakh 27 thousand rupees from Barori road to Sikrodi along with drain and culvert.
In the Bhoomipujan and inauguration program of these development works held on Saturday, Minister of State, Independent Charge, Kushwaha said that despite the Corona crisis, the government has not allowed the wheel of development to stop. He assured that a new transformer would be installed soon to solve the electricity related problem of Salupura township. Along with this, other construction works including community building will also be done here.
Member of Parliament Vivek Narayan Shejwalkar said that under the Jal Jeevan Mission, which was started on the initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, work is being done to supply water from door to door. Under this scheme, drinking water arrangement will also be made in all the habitations of Ward-66 including Salupura, Barori and Sikrodi. He said that the central and state governments are carrying out development in the backward settlements with full responsibility.
All the local public representatives including Prem Singh Rajput, Keshav Singh Gurjar and Chetram Baba were present in the program.
