The Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Narendra Singh Tomar inaugurated the fully equipped new girls hostel building of Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Agricultural University on Thursday. This hostel has been constructed at a cost of Rs. 2 crore 8 lakh from the Indian Agricultural Research Complex. There is a provision of accommodation for 56 girl students in the hostel. Union Minister Tomar and other guests inaugurated the hostel building by duly worshiping and cutting lace amidst Vedic chants.

On this occasion, Union Minister Tomar said that the government is continuously expanding the facilities in the field of agriculture. Along with this, all kinds of facilities are being provided to agricultural students so that they can study in a conducive environment. In this series, a new girls hostel has been constructed in the Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Agricultural University campus in collaboration with the Indian Council of Agricultural Research. The Union Agriculture Minister also said on this occasion that the new Agriculture Bill is going to bring revolutionary changes in the lives of farmers. Before implementing the agricultural reform laws, the agricultural subject experts of the country studied deeply for about 30 years and gave their suggestions.

State Energy Minister Pradyuman Singh Tomar, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Horticulture and Food Processing Bharat Singh Kushwaha, Member of Parliament Vivek Narayan Shejwalkar, BJP District President Kamal Makhijani, Deputy Director General of Indian Council of Agricultural Research Education Dr. RC Agarwal was present as the special guest. Also the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. SK Rao, Registrar DL Kori and Dean Agriculture Faculty Dr. DH Ranade, Directors and Professors of various branches of the University along with other concerned officers were present.

Vice Chancellor of Agricultural University Prof. SK Rao said that two girls hostels are already running in the university. With the construction of new girls hostel, more girl students will now get accommodation facility. Accommodation facility will be provided to the girl students taking new admission in this hostel.
